Role Specification. Role Purpose: Manage H&S function across 22 MOPI stores and the support office. This role is based in Lucan Support Office however travel to various stores is required. Role Scope: Permanent, 5/7 Day – C Contract, 37.5 hours approx. per week. Area of Responsibility: Manage and develop the H&S management system. Key Activities. Ensure the H&S management system for MOPI is updated regularly in line with changing legislation, best practice standards or change to business practises. Ensure the MOPI H&S system is compliant with Musgrave group policies. Liaise with other departments and provide competent H&S advice as required. Review H&S documentation throughout the business and in particular high risk activities e.g. revamps of stores. Sit on the Musgrave Group H&S Leadership Team as representative of MOPI division. Measures. Area of Responsibility: Risk assessment & training. Key Activities. Completion of specific risk assessments for colleagues returning to work at the request of the HR Department or a medical practitioner. Completion of risk assessments for all new activities, new equipment, events, or on request by the business. Provide training Department with support regarding H&S training requirements. Measures. Area of Responsibility: H&S Auditing, Support & reporting. Key Activities. Complete bi annual H&S audits in all MOPI stores. Develop the audit in line with legislation, best practise and accident/incident triggers within the business. Provide H&S support to MOPI stores and support office as required. Compile report for each audit and communicate to management team. Complete and communicate H&S reports as required to MOPI and Musgrave group. Report of a accidents to HSA as required. Measures. Area of Responsibility: Projects and revamps. Key Activities. Identify key risk areas in the business that need to be addressed. Communicate and liaise with other MOPI departments to develop plan of action for these key areas. Monitor results of these action plans within the business. Review all revamp/development plans to ensure H&S compliance. Communicate any concern to relevant parties in the MOPI business. Monitor activities in stores during these revamps/developments. Measures. Area of Responsibility: Communication with external bodies. Key Activities. Review of relevant contracts from a H&S perspective e.g. VDU, occupational health surveillance, occupational hygiene. Communicate with external government bodies e.g. HSA, fire officer. Liaise with external auditors e.g. insurance auditors etc. Measures. Primary. Secondary. QA Department. HR Department. Operations Department. Facilities Department. MOPI Stores. HSLT members. IT. Sales & Trading Team. Finance. Person Specification. Knowledge and Skills. Essential Qualifications. Desirable Qualifications. Diploma in H&S. Member of IOSH. Manual Handling instructor. Degree/Post Grad/MSc in H&S. Occupational First aid trained. VDU assessor. Fire warden. OHSAS 18001. Functional Knowledge & Experience. Business Knowledge & Experience. H&S management experience. Auditing techniques. Behavioural systems knowledge. Working knowledge of a Health and Safety System. Working knowledge of a Food Safety and Quality. System.
