Linux Administrator. PE Global requires a Linux Administrator for one of our clients in Dublin. This is a permanent position. We use a lot of different technologies. You don't have to have worked with all of these, but, so you have an idea of what you'll be working with, here is a list of some of the technologies we use: FreeBSD, EC2, S3, EIP, Cloudfront, Rackspace cloud. Puppet, hiera, Jenkins, Rundeck, Nexus. MySQL, Postgres, REDIS, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch. NGINX, HAProxy, Varnish, Tomcat. Logstash, Kibana, Zabbix. You must have: Rock solid Linux/Unix admin skills. TCP/IP fundamentals, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSH, DHCP, etc. Worked in a production cloud environment, e.g. AWS, Rackspace, DigitalOcean, etc.. You understand their limitations as well as their benefits. Analytical and methodical approach. This should include capacity planning for future growth, assessing the impact of new features on performance and also debugging failures in production. Solid database admin experience. You have implemented and maintained a replicated deployment in production. Preferably MySQL or Postgres. A keen understanding of how to monitor production systems. Ability to write scripts to automate tasks (Python, bash, etc.). Good documentation skills. SCM experience, svn, git, etc. Bonus points for the following. Experience administering an e-commerce platform. Experience working in a DNS registry or registrar. Experience with any of REDIS, Puppet, Jenkins. An understanding of (or desire to learn about) modern development and devops practices. Knowledge of or an interest in mobile web.
