Job Title Senior Production Engineer
Description Our Client is one of the world`s leading engineering and scientific technology companies , with expertise in precision measurement and healthcare. The company supplies products and services used in applications as diverse as jet engine and wind turbine manufacture, through to dentistry and brain surgery.

It is also a world leader in the field of additive manufacturing (also referred to as metal 3D printing), where it is the only UK business that designs and makes industrial machines which ‘print` parts from metal powder.

The Group currently has more than 70 offices in 35 countries, witharound 4,000employees worldwide. Around 2,600 people are employed within the UK where the company carries out the majority of its research and development and its manufacturing.

They are currently recruiting an innovative and self-motivated Senior Production Engineer t o lead a team of Engineers responsible for a large variety of its products.The successful applicant will have a strong technical background and minimum of 5-years’ supervisory experience.

The key outputs and deliverables of the role are as follows:

Lead a team of Engineers responsible for production support of a large variety of products
Manage manufacturing processes and provide innovative process improvements to existing products within a team environment.
To define, validate and manage manufacturing processes for product upgrades and/or new product introductions.
Lead a team of Engineers and Production staff to drive improvements in quality standards.
Drive improvements in process trend analysis and product quality reporting.
To work closely with Product Divisions to ensure existing and new products are designed for manufacture.


All applicants must possess the following:

Educated to at least degree level in Mechanical/Production Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 8 years’ experience in a mid/high volume manufacturing environment.
Experience in use of problem solving techniques and application within a team environment.
Good “can do” attitude and strong interpersonal skills to manage a team.


Although not essential, it is desirable if applicants have the following:

Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 and creator of internal procedures to comply with same.
Experience in new product development and product transfer between manufacturing sites.
Experience with the application of six sigma tools.


Person specification:

An enthusiastic ‘hands-on’ individual with a strong mechanical background, and good communication/PC skills including MS excel and word. Good project management and leadership skills are essential.

Location:

This role is based at our Swords plant but travel to the UK headquarters is expected on a regular basis.
