Purchasing Manager . Reporting to the Managing Director, The Purchasing Manager will ensure effective management, control and development of the supply-chain, procurement of materials and services, negotiating cost reductions and implementation of contracts with suppliers. In conjunction with the Operations Manager the Purchasing Manager will develop the Production schedule such that production activities are in accordance with customer requirements, technical constrictions and make to stock requirements. Ideally were looking for an ambitious Purchasing Manager with progressive experience within a food manufacturing environment ( this is not a deal breaker ) and a strong background in strategic sourcing, planning, NPD procurement, and stakeholder management and supplier development. You will need a category management approach to sourcing and have real hands-on experience with very strong supplier development and stakeholder management skills. Duties and Responsibilities: Procurement of Direct and Indirect goods. Development and implementation of Procurement strategies for business with site management. This will entail keeping up to date on world commodity markets for those products we purchase as regards product supply and price movements. Defining the sourcing strategy to ensure continuity of supply of materials to meet production and NPI plans. Contract negotiation and management. Commodity tracking for core raw materials to keep business informed of trends and influencing ongoing contract negotiation. Procurement of materials required for ongoing production requirements and to meet sales and operations plans. Responsible for the Procurement budget for the site. Sourcing of materials to meet NPI (new product introduction) requirements. Development of the vendors to ensure that all deliverables; cost, quality, technical support, process control, logistics and the overall service levels are achieved and ongoing improvements sustained. Maintain at all times high service levels ensuring deliveries are on time in accordance with production planning. Work in conjunction with the Technical Manager on company initiatives such as sustainability (Origin Green. Managing commercial relationships with Suppliers from around the world... Facilitate cost reduction activities to reduce overall bill of materials costs and present progress reports regularly at purchasing meetings. Develop information regarding critical suppliers including capacity & forecast, ordering method and supply plans. Investigate alternative processes, technology offering and new suppliers internationally and benchmarking with competitors. Maintain stock management and manage a continuous improvement plan to ensure there is progression in reducing costs in line with clearly defined KPI`S. Present a weekly update on Purchasing in the form a KPI report at the weekly Operations Management meeting. Develop the Production Schedule so as to ensure that stocks of own manufactured products are at optimum levels. Experience and Qualifications: Minimum 5 years purchasing experience gained within a B2B or an FMCG environment withexcellent IT and strong negotiation skills. Solid exposure to multi geography Supplier and Vendor management processes and continuous improvement.
