Senior Operational Risk advisor. Our client has just released a new position of a Senior Operational Risk advisor. This role in the Operational Risk Management team, with responsibility for embedding the project management framework within EFS Risk & Compliance and delivering assigned projects. The successful candidate will be an experienced change / project manager, who is able to provide diligent oversight of project implementation across Risk & Compliance, promote effective project management activities across the team, as well as delivery of individual projects / milestones. Principal accountabilities of Position. The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following: Embed the project management framework for the Risk & Compliance team, ensuring continuous improvement opportunities are explored throughout. Expertly manage projects assigned to them for delivery, completing within timeframe and in line with stakeholder expectations. Lead project reporting across the Risk & Compliance teams, providing quality assurance for individual project reports and delivering on aggregate reporting to senior management. Promote excellence in project delivery and support other project leads throughout project lifecycle, identify areas for improvement in project management for the team. Actively support stakeholder engagement for projects across Risk & Compliance, including assisting with the identification of relevant stakeholders, and where required, acting as a liaison between projects owners / stakeholders. Essential experience, skills and competencies. Experience. Preferred experience includes: Minimum 5 years' experience in Project Management for Financial Services, at least three of which should be in management roles. Proven track record of implementing a project management framework in a regulated entity, with a sound knowledge of project management models and best practice. Proven ability as a project manager overseeing / delivering large, complex projects, in a dynamic business environment. Strong ability to build and maintain relationships across a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring that all relevant requirements are effectively translated into project design and implementation stages. Strong technical understanding of the financial products and services offered by our client and operational processes of the various functions would be of benefit. Experience with leading risk management and / or regulatory change initiatives an advantage. Skills. Comfortable working as a self-starter, and influencing and motivating others to deliver on project deliverables. Ability to engage and manage stakeholder relationships and expectations and demonstrate sound communication, negotiating and influencing skills. Ability to manage competing demands in a complex regulatory environment. Strong proficiency with relevant project tools (MS Project, Excel, Visio) - intermediate to advanced level. Adept in creating polished PowerPoint presentations, simplifying diverse and complex themes into easily understandable communications. Applicants should have a strong third level qualification (degree or similar) in business / finance or related subject.
