Description

A great new role as this business grows for an experienced H&S Expert. The role will be responsible for providing H&S support to an industry that does a lot of work off-shore. and will span all areas of the company including engineering design, manufacturing and installation. Main Duties & Responsibilities. Ensure continuous improvement of effective Health & Safety; systems, programs, processes and standards. Participate in H&S risk assessments, inspections, reviews and audits, & communicate findings and follow-up. Work intra-company to ensure; risk assessments and method statements are suitable and legally compliant. Carry out site based health & safety; tours, inspections and inductions. Distribution of safety communications including safety alerts and industry related standards. Assist with identifying and managing company H&S training provisions. Plan, coordinate and maintain company H&S training databases. Carry out accident/incident investigations. Prepare monthly site H&S Reports highlighting of good and poor performers & Indicators. Ensure site emergency plans and procedures are up-to-date and in compliance with legal criteria. Compile and analyse incident data including KPI performance based on incidents and hours worked. Maintain document control system of H&S related activities/programs. Ensure compliance of all Health and Safety standards, policies, and procedures. Weekly and monthly H&S reporting to H&S Manager. Essential Skills. A Level 3 qualification in Occupational Safety & Health - from Ireland or UK. At least 5 years previous experience in a health and safety position. Full Driving Licence and in-date passport. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Strong influencing and communication skills. Ability to manage own workload, and appropriately prioritise tasks within given timescales. Highly organised approach to work. A proactive, self-starter, capable of working independently, using own initiative. Member of IOSH, ideally in possession or pursuit of chartered membership. Willingness to travel to deployment locations on a frequent basis. Health & Safety; Inspection and Auditing experience. Practical approach to work including problem solving skills. Good level of literacy, numeracy and computer skills e.g. Microsoft Office - Word, XL, PowerPoint. Desirable Experience. Experience of the oil/gas offshore or heavy industry sectors. ENG11/UKOG Medical Certification and or industry recognised equivalent. PST or UK BOISET qualification. Experience of working offshore and in remote locations and international working.
