Multinational freight forwarder now seeks to hire an Air Ocean Operations Supervisorfor their South Dublin branch. Reporting to the Operations Manager / Customer Services Manager, you will support and maintain an effective and productive freight operations department, which focuses on delivery of results, maximising profitability and developing sustainable customer relationships. Key Responsibilities: Supporting & coordinating the shift management process to ensure labour planning for both normal and peak periods. Ensuring accurate receipt and despatch of goods in line with agreed procedures. Coordinating with management to ensure site disciplines are maintained in accordance with site agreements, health & safety standards and food safety guidelines. Developing ownership of performance through effective communication. Establishing and agreeing work objectives and targets. Ensuring that service is maintained at the levels agreed within the contracts. Planning and managing business focused improvement projects as appropriate. Monitoring compliance to Standard Operating Procedures and customer procedures, initiating corrective action where appropriate. Defining, compiling & analysing agreed KPI information to ensure optimal efficiency & performance. Supporting reviewing site H&S plans, initiating improvements as appropriate. Monitoring internal processes to ensure optimum efficiencies. Ensuring that operational plans are developed and implemented in line with business objectives. Reviewing & analysing contract performance with customers, recommending & initiating improvement plans where appropriate. Ensuring that customers are kept fully informed about issues that affect contract performance. Adhering to the rules and regulation that govern Freight forwarders such as CILT – IATA – CMR – RHA - INCO TERMS – most importantly, IIFA local standard trading conditions. Support in the implementation of budgets and business plans where appropriate. Producing forecasts in line with business performance. Identifying and recommending business development opportunities with business development colleagues where appropriate. Ensuring operational plans are developed & implemented to ensure achievement of business objectives. Ensuring that SLAs are met. Managing employee relationships effectively to ensure productive relationships within the workforce. Clarifying roles & responsibilities within the operations team. Identifying & developing key individuals for the future. Ensuring individuals have the right skills to do their jobs effectively and providing learning events when there is a capability gap. Ensuring that recruitment is planned and phased to meet current and known future needs. Minimum Requirements: Experience within logistics sector with hands on Air & Ocean freight operations experience. Experience of managing an operation through objective setting, including the establishment and monitoring of SLA’s/KPI’s. Experience of working in a health and safety focused environment. Excellent Communication Skills - Written & Verbal. Strong team skills coupled with an ability to drive and implement change. Strong IT literacy including a strong understanding of maximising the effective utilisation of technology. Knowledge of WMS systems & TMS Cargowise. Service and profit focused. Proven ability to cross train and develop colleagues in new operational disciplines. Experience of continuous improvement techniques. Type: Permanent. Package: €Neg. + Bonus.
