Established Logistics company in Dublin North is now recruiting a Part-time HR Generalist for their Dublin Branch. 20 hours per week with flexibility on times to accommodate the successful person. The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting the management team in the effective management of employees and HR within the business. This is a stand-alone role that will develop and enhance our HR infrastructure to support our growing business. The HR Generalist will be required to ensure the consistent application of HR policy to ensure best practice. Duties and Responsibilities HR Advice and Support Act as the point of contact for all HR queries within the company, addressing all queries in a timely manner. Support managers through the management of employee performance - probationary period and performance management processes. Advise and support managers on developments in employment law, best practice and practical applications to assist in staff management. Continuously improve HR processes, policies and procedures in line with changing organisation policy and legislation to ensure HR services work effectively and efficiently. Compliance and Record Keeping. Maintain a HR filing system for all new and established employees, ensuring it is kept up to date on a weekly basis. Management and entry of data into our systems with all employee details ensuring records are maintained, accurate and kept up to date compliant with relevant legislation and organisational needs at all times. Manage all holiday and leave entitlements, ensuring they are fully up to date, liaising with managers and employees where appropriate, dealing with or escalating any issues to the appropriate person. Maintain the employee handbook and ensure compliance with developments in organisational policy and legislation. Recruitment and Selection Coordinate all recruitment and selection process within the company, including management of advertisement and administration associated with the recruitment process, ensuring the efficient running of the process end to end. Provide appropriate and effective advice and assistance to managers regarding selection processes and recruitment best practice. Ensure advertising meets all legal requirements and accurately describes the position and positively reflects our core values and internal competencies / behaviours. Develop, maintain and update job descriptions, signed by all employees, to ensure they accurately reflect the role and the needs of the company. Develop and maintain effective recruitment toolkits, policies and procedures. Training and Development. Develop and deliver an employee induction programme to all new employees within the company, updating the programme to keep in line with organisational and legislative requirements. Work alongside management and employees to identify training needs within the company, identify training programmes, and manage the provision of training to ensure it is being delivered to all employees as per the needs of the company. Assist managers to develop and effectively maximise the capabilities of their staff, identifying and facilitating appropriate interventions through performance management processes if needed. Compile and maintain up to date training records (including Health and Safety) to ensure the company is compliant with all training requirements Employee Relations. Assist and advise management and employees on company policy queries and employee relations issues, complying with legislation and ensuring consistency across the company. Work closely with management and employees to ensure a positive work environment is maintained for all. Lead employee related issues including employee investigations, absence issues, counselling, grievance and discipline ensuring a timely resolution to all issues, always striving for early resolution. Compile and maintain accurate files in relation to all potential and live employee relations issues. Manage short term and long term absence, occupational health and correspondence in relation to absence. There will be a number of HR initiatives / projects each year that the HR Generalist will be required to manage or participate in. Qualifications HR Degree or Degree from a relevant discipline. Ideally CIPD qualified or working towards Experience. 3 years’ experience within a busy HR department, ideally at HR Coordinator or HR Generalist role. Experience of the Logistics or similar sector preferable Skills/Competencies. Strong employment law and legislative knowledge to manage employee matters appropriately. Excellent knowledge of HR practices, policies and procedures. Proven ability to use HR knowledge and experience to provide solutions to HR challenges/problems. Energetic, high attention to detail individual who works well under pressure and has a track record of meeting deadlines. Strong administration and organisational skills. Proficient user of the Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, interpersonal, relationship building and influencing skills. Demonstrated experience in delivering on projects. Terms: Permanent, Part-time (20 hours per week, felixble to accommodate successful candidate. Package: Negotiable depending on experience.
