Engagement Officer. POSITION: Irish League of Credit Union Foundation Engagement Officer. DEPARTMENT: International Development Foundation. REPORTING TO: International Development General Manager. The Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU) International Development Foundation seeks to recruit a suitably qualified professional to be based in Dublin for the following post: Background: The International Development Foundation of the ILCU (ILCUF) has expanded considerably over the last five years. We support a wide portfolio of innovative credit union partners – from rehabilitating/establishing credit unions to assisting large and long standing credit unions in Africa and Eastern Europe. We are also delivering credit union projects with Irish Aid, the UN, EU and a number of other donor agencies in line with best international practice. In line with our current strategic plan we are aiming to continue to significantly increase the scope of our relationship and partnerships with our supporters – Irish credit unions – to increase their awareness of our work within our own network and through all media platforms at local and national level. Main Purpose of Job: The ILCU Foundation Engagement Officer will be mainly focused on leading and developing the communicating/income generating activities of ILCUF with our key supporters. In addition the candidate will be expected to represent the Foundation at local and at national level. The role will also include the management of specific programmes and projects. Job Type: One year Fixed term contract. Main Responsibilities: Maintain and develop credit union support relationships and look to enhance these partnerships. Lead and manage an excellent level of engagement and customer services with all supporters. Lead the design and implementation of a new communications and partner development strategy for the ILCUF. Research and develop innovative ways to generate income from new groups of donors and partners. Ensure our donor and financial database is maintained to a high standard and that all data inputted is done so accurately, to enable precise reporting on activities. Represent and maximise ILCUF’s profile at local, regional and national meetings/networking events. Copy-write, design, produce and disseminate key publications and communication products including its Annual Report. Identify and execute activities to build on and enhance our current engagement programmes, such as Coaching Programmes, International Study Tours and the Great Ethiopian Run Programme. Provide input and support to our digital communication activities. PERSON SPECIFICATION. It is essential to have the following: Previous experience in a similar communication, relationship management and/or fundraising role. Third level qualification. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Strong analytical, planning and budgeting skills with a focus on return on investment. Demonstrable experience in prioritising one’s workload and conflicting demands while delivering results within deadlines. Diligent, highly organised with close attention to detail. Flexible work attitude: the ability to work productively in a team and/or independently. This position is based in Dublin, but travel will be necessary as a regular feature of this role. Full clean driving licence. It is desirable to have the following: Familiarity with the Credit Union Movement – its principles, structures and procedures.
