The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation (DBEI) has responsibility for the creation and maintenance of sustainable employment across all regions of the country by championing enterprise across government, supporting a competitive enterprise base to incentivise work, enterprise, trade and investment and promoting fair and competitive markets. As a member of the Management Board, the Head of Strategic Policy Division and Corporate Supports provides evidence-based support to the work of DBEI as the lead Department for enterprise development and works across government to ensure continuous enhancement of job creation in areas such as skills, taxation, essential infrastructures and competitiveness. The successful candidate will have: • excellent leadership, management and organisational skills with a proven record of leading a significant and successful change programme at a senior level in a large or complex organisation; • excellent interpersonal and communications skills with an ability to build effective relationships internally and externally with state agencies and other stakeholders; • a clear understanding, or the capacity to quickly develop an understanding of the diverse range of business activities led by the Department and the key interfaces between these activities and the wider economic and social context.
