My client, a leading pharmaceutical company have a new vacancy for a Chemometrician. This position will be part of Global MSAT and is responsible for finished product Technology Transfers, including the integration of new products from the development phase into production using Quality by Design. The Role. This new role will develop excellence in GPS in consistently using a data-driven approach, for transformation of manufacturing and in the development of new manufacturing processes. The primary responsibilities of the role are: • Acting as Senior Subject Matter Expert for GPS in the field of chemometrics / advanced analytics, helping to define a standardised approach to data analysis across GPS. • Using (and promoting the use of) multivariate analysis for the identification, isolation and exploitation of data patterns in order to identify significant relationships between process variables & outputs and to define performance improvement initiatives. • Training of MSAT (and other GPS personnel) in Design of Experiments and in the use of statistics in the evaluation of data from complex datasets. • Leading / participating in cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams tasked with problem solving and achieving improvements in process understanding, control & capability. • Collaboration cross-functionally to drive the use of Process Analytical Technology (PAT) for gaining efficiencies in API / finished product manufacture. • Liaison with counterparts in other functions (e.g. R&D), to ensure a standardised approach to data analysis within the science community. A moderate level of travel should be expected. The Person. • Self-starter with a “hands on” approach and the ability to complete tasks via cross-cultural and cross-functional cooperation. • Excellent communication and presentation skills and interpersonal competencies to build fruitful relations and drive results in a matrix-based organisation. • Ability to act as team leader or team player and to work independently on multiple activities. Experience Required. • Primary degree or post-graduate degree in Applied Statistics, Chemometrics, Biostatistics or related fields or a background as a natural scientist or engineer with a strong focus on using statistical methods and data science. • Experience in statistical analysis, data mining, modelling, experimental design and reporting including experience in using SAS-JMP, MiniTab, Matlab, SQL or other statistical software to solve real world problems and to support research activities. • A good understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, GMP and regulatory requirements. • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner.
