What you need to know. You will work as a Desktop Support Agent for our client, an Investment Bank company in Dublin .Our client is one of the world’s leading financial institutions. Desktop Support Services has responsibility for the support of all PC equipment (including printers). This includes hardware, software and application configuration. In addition, you will participate in a number of key operations and technical projects which support and underpin the business. We are looking for a detail oriented, creative thinker with strong technical and customer service skills. A self-starter with excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of desktop applications along with good interpersonal and problem-solving skills. This is an 8- month contract job. Key duties & responsibilities: Adhere to corporate guidelines and standards for workstation builds and deployment of hardware and software. Ensure corporate tracking tools are used to confirm all items are approved and certified prior to installation. Coordinate with other technical groups globally regarding management of installs and support issues ensuring business units remain within guidelines and standards. Problem and fault resolution at desk-side and remotely, to include maintaining, configuring and troubleshooting applications, PCs, Laptops and PDAs. Ensure documentation is devised and maintained to corporate standards. Act as technical resource on projects as required. Provide a concierge service for both high profile and standard Audio Visual and Video Conference related meetings. Assist with the support and testing of the Disaster Recovery environment, including the regular replacement of Desktop hardware. Assist with the installation, maintenance and local support of all MER equipment within established standards and procedures. Assist with office moves. Act as a liaison with local vendors on support issues. Ensure that hardware is available for new starters. (PC, Telephone etc.) Ensure systems access is removed from all departing staff as appropriate. Availability to work out of hours and at weekends as required. Skills / Experience. Experience in incident management, problem management and change management processes will be required. Experience with Service Now is beneficial. Strong planning and organisational skills are required to perform multiple assignments. Problem resolution in an analytical and logical manner, to devise hardware and software solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a solid technical background are essential as is the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment. Extensive experience with systems applications and PC, office or desktop tools, including prior client servicing experience. To include installing, troubleshooting, and repairing personal computers. Familiar with Active Directory, Microsoft Operating Systems, Virtual Applications, SCCM, Group Policies, TCP/IP printing & networking and rights/permissions. Microsoft Certification is desired and candidate should be able to demonstrate evidence of academic achievement. Knowledge of Windows 7 and Macintosh (operating system and MDM solutions) would be beneficial. Knowledge of Polycom Video Conferencing systems. Experience of working in MER environments and providing Smart hands assistance to remote teams. Experience with ‘Best Practice’ methodologies such as ITIL, Six Sigma & Prince. Previous experience working in a similar Financial organisation advantageous. Experience working closely with other technology teams such as Helpdesk, Server and Network teams.
