Long established South Dublin based Freight Forwarder now seek to hire an experienced Road Freight Operations Manager to assist in the continued development of their UK import service. Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for the operation and development of the Road freight department consisting of seven clerks. Managing and coordinating Road freight staff and operations for inbound groupage transportation from the UK. Work with the Managing Director, Sales and Key Account Teams, and implement operational process improvements. Participation in management meetings/development of the service. Identifying opportunities to increase the profitability of the Road freight department by targeting new customers and/or increasing business with existing customers. Build upon existing client relationships with regular visits. Staff training, development, performance management, mentoring etc. Minimum Requirements: A minimum of 4 years’ experience in Road freight operations supervision / management in the Irish market is required. Proven people management skills. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook. Freight forwarding industry certification or an appropriate professional qualification in Logistics or Management is desirable. Terms: Permanent, Full-time. Package: Negotiable, entirely based upon experience.
