The National Disability Authority (NDA) is the independent statutory body that provides information and advice to the Minister for Justice and Equality on policy and practice relating to persons with disabilities and promotes universal design, and has a specific function in relation to research.
Further information is available at www.nda.ie. The role of the Senior Research Officer will be to work on applied research on disability, and in support of the National Disability Authority’s roles of policy advice, standards development and monitoring.
A major part of the NDA’s research programme over the next 18 months will be to manage and deliver a major research and evaluation study to support the change programme under way in disability services, under the Value for Money and Policy Review implementation process.
The person appointed will be expected to play a major role in managing this element of the research programme, and the contract will be offered for that specified purpose.
