Data Protection / Freedom of Information Solicitor. Location: Dublin North. Salary: €Neg. Our client, one of Ireland’s leading law firms has an immediate vacancy for a Data Protection / Freedom of Information Solicitor to join their Data Protection and FOI Team on a permanent basis to provide services to both public and private sector entities. The role will involve: Data Protection. Advising clients on the implementation of the GDPR including drafting/reviewing data protection and data retention policies, drafting and negotiating data processing agreements, advising in respect of data breaches, cross-border processing and handling data access requests; Advising Data Protection Officers; Providing tailored training to clients; Conducting GDPR Readiness Assessments/Audits; FOI. Reviewing /drafting decisions for decision makers and internal reviewers in client organisations; Drafting submissions to the Office of the Information Commissioner on behalf of clients; Reviewing drafting FOI policies and procedures; Providing tailored training to clients; Other ad hoc activities as required. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong ambitions to assist in developing the firms Data Protection / Freedom of Information practice. Skills and Experience Required: A qualified solicitor preferably in the area of data protection and FOI or in a compliance role with data protection responsibilities. Strong business development and networking skills. Ability to foster trusted relationships with our clients. Strong project management experience. Strong organisational and time management skills. Team player with strong communication skills. A good work ethic with a positive can do attitude and approach to work.
