Our client, a pharmaceutical company, are currently recruiting for a Senior Buyer . Role and Responsibilities: You will be given a geographical territory, in which you will be responsible for. the relations to all existing suppliers; the purchase of all products assessing costs and availability compared to demand and profitability of individual products; Finding new suppliers. Main tasks. 1 Procure and order pharmaceutical products from approved suppliers and identify additional suppliers on a continuous basis; 2 plan purchase strategy based on business plan / sales, 3 obtain the required quantities of products in line with sales; 4 negotiate prices of existing products where possible; 5 investigate new opportunities, hereunder unique or one-off opportunities; 6 travel abroad to visit suppliers at least once a year and arrange for them to travel to the Company at least once a year. 7 Participate in trade fairs; 8 Develop and maintain close cooperation with supply chain department; hereunder informing them about deliveries and expected quantities; 9 To be generally aware at all times of the potential for counterfeit product in the supply chain and to ensure the measures in place within the quality systems to counteract the potential of handling counterfeit product are adhered to; 10 Inform supply chain about deliveries and expected quantities; 11 maintain the SAP system: GRPO, PO, stock adjustments versus PO; 12 co-organise transport of goods; 13 demonstrate a proactive approach towards stock issues; 14 work closely with the Quality Department; 15 follow rules and regulations (GDP guidelines); 16 Carry out various other additional tasks that may be required from time to time in accordance with the overall goal of the Company. Requirements. 1. A minimum of 5 years purchasing, logistic or supply chain experience working with a wholesaler or other pharma purchasing unit; 2. Fluent at the English language. Benefitial to speak additional languages; 3. An understanding of Parallel Trade and or wholesaling of pharmaceuticals is an advantage; 4. Strong social skills, hereunder ability to build and maintin supplier relationships; 5. Customer orientated within the organisation: Excellent communicator, analyst and negotiator; 6. Result driven: Objective/results orientated, creative problem solving mentality; 7. Stress resistant: remains efficient under pressure, disappointment or resistance or problems; 8. Interested in being a key factor in the growth of the company; 9. Ability to lead a team and grow a multi-national department; 10. Assure a culture of openness, dialogue and feedback; 11.
