Head of Employee Relations & Engagement. Role Summary. To set up of a new team within HR. A key role on the HR Leadership Team providing proactive operational and strategic leadership of the Employee Relations and Employee Engagement aspects of the HR Strategy. This is a critical role in the transformation of the HR service delivery model whilst ensuring a robust approach to employee relations and engagement within the function. The team will provide the following to the HR function: Industrial Relations. Employee Engagement. Well-being, Diversity and Inclusion. Internal Communications. Strategy and Leadership. Policy Management & Forum Representation. Operational Risk. Industrial Relations. Champion the Employee Relations Strategy that re-defines relationships with staff representative bodiesand provides a voice for all employees. Lead the negotiation of key strategic change initiativeswith unions including the annual Pay Review. Strategic management of industrial relationscrisis leadership. Employee Engagement. Oversee the relevant work streams for culture and engagementwithin the business to create a business where people want to join, want to stay, to perform and want to be proud of. Define the strategy for measuringand improving engagement and inclusivity. Oversee a series of group initiatives to further embed the Values into the culture of the organisation. Well-being, diversity and inclusion. Establish a Diversity and Inclusion staff strategy to drive and promote across the Group. Championwell-being, diversity and inclusion. Act as a catalyst and role modelfor driving desired changes and actions to improve the Internal Communications area. Redefine and develop theCommunication Framework. Strategy and Leadership. Champion theestablishment and communication of the strategy, goals and objectives for the Employee Relations team. Drive a strategic review having regard to external best practice and thinking around Internal Communications, Employee Engagement and Industrial Relations, and implement changes to Group approach as may be required. Lead the strategic alignmentof the Employee Relations approach with the Group's strategy and objectives. Operational Risk. Drive a risk aware culturethat is aligned to the risk appetite. Identify risks and have mitigating and control factorsin place. Advocate calculated risk takingin a highly regulated risk environment. Skills & Experience. Expert in designing, negotiating and implementing pay strategies, annual pay reviews and managing performance related reward operations in a larger organisation. Experience with Union negotiations with a number of diverse Union groups. Experience of crisis management in relation to industrial relations issues an advantage.
