Our client, a multi-national company, based in Dublin is recruiting a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team on a 10 month contract basis. The ideal candidate would have an accounting qualification and accounting experience, if that person also has tax experience or a tax qualification that would be an advantage, but, is not essential. Department Description. This progressive and innovative team comprises a dynamic group of approximately 100 financial professionals who are responsible for delivering timely, reliable and relevant financial information to its key stakeholders. This includes US GAAP accounting controllership and external statutory reporting for the companies subsidiaries in EMEA, as well being as actively involved in accounting aspects of mergers and acquisitions. It also acts as a key fiduciary for all EMEA entities, proactively engaging in financial compliance and risk management. Job description. The Senior Tax Accountant reports directly to the Financial Controller, and is responsible for actively managing all accounting aspects of a tax audit. As a member of the Tax Accounting team, you will play a lead role in ensuring that all aspects of tax accounting controllership and the financial information to support external requirements is delivered to the highest standard. This will include the following: Supporting the Financial controller on managing tax enquiries/audits within the controllers team while acting as a fiduciary to manage risk to the enterprise. Gathering of accounting information required/requested in connection with a tax audit and summarise it in a way that it will be usable for tax audit purposes. Supporting the team during SOX Compliance external tax audits and ad hock compliance requirements. Co-ordinating within the Controller Team the collection of information required for preparation of tax provisions and assets and Transfer Pricing Documentation. Tax initiative- Identifying, evaluating, analyzing and implementing ideas coming from the GCO Controllers and Tax team, which will contribute towards operational excellence and continuous improvement. Liaising with internal finance teams in Dublin and elsewhere in EMEA to obtain accounting financial and supporting date for tax audits for Oracle and acquired companies. Qualifications: Qualified Certified/Chartered/CIMA Accountant is essential. Qualified taxation professional or any relevant European Accounting qualification would be preferred but not required. Knowledge of Oracle financial would be desirable. Advance level of computer skills, mainly word and excel. Strong knowledge of macros would be an advantage. Strong logical and analytical skills with a high level of common sense. Problem identification and solving skills. Excellent listening, written and verbal communications skills are essential. Ability to interface effectively with different levels and teams within the company. Ability to multi task. European Language skills would be preferred but not required.
